"All sales final, no returns, no refunds and no exchanges" does not mean you are stuck with defective goods. Every merchant makes warranties as to the quality of what is sold. Language like "no refunds or exchanges" just means you cannot change you mind if you do not like what you bought.  


Credit Card Fees Can Suck You In

Remember when most of us paid only an annual fee on credit cards? Today, late fees and over-the-limit fees are replacing that annual fee. Add in a dizzying array of extra charges: for phone payments, "expedited" online payments, credit card use overseas and balance transfers from other cards. Attorney can be sued for failing to advise client of risk of losing. A California Court of Appeals has held that a lawyer who represented a party in homeowners dispute could be sued for failing to advise his client that her failure to settle exposed her to the risk of having to pay her opponents' attorney fees, which were well in excess of the original amount in dispute.
