FDA warns Purell makers to correct unproven claims in its marketing

Part of the function of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is to make sure companies don’t make false claims when advertising their products, and that appears to be what’s happening in the case of Gojo Industries, the maker of Purell hand sanitizer. FDA officials have sent a warning letter to Gojo over some of the language that the company has used in its marketing materials. This includes claims that some Purell products have the ability to kill germs that are linked to MRSA and VRE.  Click here for more.

Real estate contract found unconscionable. A Texas court of appeals found a real estate contract to be unconscionable under DTPA based on price. In addition to DTPA damages, the court also ruled the promissory note, deed of trust, and vendor's lien in special warranty deed were void pursuant to DTPA. Sadeghian v. Jaco, 2020 Tex.
