GM eliminating five sedans in major reorganization

General Motors has followed Ford's lead in reducing its fleet, retiring some of its sedans, including the electric Chevy Volt, the full-size Impala, and the compact Cruze. GM said the move is part of a transition to the automotive future, where consumers are purchasing fewer cars and being more discerning about the vehicles they do buy.

The record-breaking holiday spending that began on Thanksgiving has spilled into this week. Cyber Monday blew the doors off of sales projections as consumers spent $7.9 billion in online transactions, according to Adobe Analytics. Airbnb and Ebay have announced they will no longer force its employees who filed sexual harassment lawsuits to settle their claims in private arbitration. The notice came only days after Google and Facebook made similar announcements concerning policy changes about sexual harassment, including ending forced arbitration for such claims. Google’s announcement followed a 20,000 employee walkout protesting the company’s handling of sexual misconduct allegations. In May of this year, Uber and Lyft became two of the first gig companies to waive mandatory arbitration and remove the confidentiality requirement for sexual assault and harassment victims, for passenger, driver and employee claims.
