Nissan recalls Nissan Versa sedans and hatchbacks
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger front airbag, the airbag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. The recall is expected to begin in July 2018. The Consumer Price Index, which tracks most items on the average city-dwelling American's shopping list, rose 2.9% last month — its fastest pace since 2012.
