Verizon to Buy Yahoo for $4.8 Billion

Yahoo will soon be under the same umbrella as former rival AOL, with Verizon agreeing to acquire the online operation for $4.8 billion. The Verizon deal will include all of Yahoo’s online properties. However, Verizon will not acquire Yahoo's 15% ownership stake in Chinese online retail giant Alibaba and its shares of Yahoo Japan. The site already has thousands of reviews on hundreds of airlines across the world. Filing proof of claim on time-barred debt does not violate Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The Eighth Circuit declined to extend the FDCPA to time-barred proofs of claim, concluding that an accurate and complete proof of claim on a time-barred debt is not false, deceptive, misleading, unfair, or unconscionable under the FDCPA. The court explained that the bankruptcy code provides for a claims resolution process and these protections against harassment and deception satisfy the relevant concerns of the FDCPA. Nelson v.
