Beware "Fast Food" Posing as "Fast Casual"

Marketers know that "fast food" has become a bad word in the consumer's mind. When Chipotle coined the term "fast casual" it was a different kind of fast food, with no freezers and a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Employer's motion to compel arbitration denied where arbitration clause not included in employment contract. New Jersey Appellate Division affirmed the denial of an employer’s motion to compel arbitration of age discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit because the clause was in an employee handbook which explicitly stated it was not a "contract" with the employee.
