Fake Automated Calls Distress Texans
There are reports of automated calls claiming to be from the IRS and telling Texans that they owe money. Because the IRS does not contact taxpayers with threatening phone calls or messages, beware any such calls. The IRS will contact you in writing with any problems with your return, so if you receive such a call it is probably a scam.
