FTC Cracks Down on Car Dealerships

The Federal Trade Commission is cracking down on car dealerships that use deceptive and misleading tactics to entice consumers and sell vehicles. Under "Operation Steer Clear," federal authorities identified a variety of common fraudulent practices. For instance, dealerships used fake sweepstakes, hidden financing, and teaser prices that were dramatically different from actual payments when advertising and pushing vehicles.

T-Mobile Will Pay Early Termination Fees

Are you sick of your current mobile phone service provider, but stuck in a long-term contract?



One provider is offering consumers an "out" if they want to switch. T-Mobile recently announced that it will pay the ETFs (early termination fees) for consumers willing to make the switch. In fact, it'll even extend the offer to allow families on a plan with multiple contract end dates to join up.



T-Mobile will pay early termination fees for up to five lines on a single account.

PC Sales On Record Decline

Personal Computer (PC) sales are on the worst decline since the introduction of the technology years ago. Market analysts believe the decline can be largely attributed to a shift in consumer computer preferences. That is, many consumers use a smartphone or tablet instead of a PC.



Although the sales trends for PCs are down as a whole, some computer companies have actually experienced growth. Apple, the maker of the Mac, grew 28.5% year over year.
