Supreme Court Won't Review NSA Practices

The Supreme Court of the United States has decided that it will not review the National Security Agency's (NSA) electronic eavesdropping practices.



The case was unusual because the petitioner bypassed the lower court system completely, reasoning that only the Supreme Court had authority in such matters. The complaint had a specific focus on the NSA's collection of millions of Verizon phone records and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.



Since Edward Snowden started releasing top secret government documents, many have expressed outrage over the government's extensive spying programs.
