The People’s Lawyer’s Tip of the DayIf you are receiving emails that appear to be from Paypal a bank or a credit card company telling you about "a recent charge to your account," ignore them. Do not click on any link to verify your account or dispute the charge. If you want to check with your credit card company, the phone number is on your card. If you think the notice may be real, wait until you receive your credit card bill and then dispute it. These are scams designed to get your private information. FAA Grounds Boeing Dreamliner 787After a series of startling events, the Federal Aviation Administration has ordered the grounding of all Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft. The Wisconsin Court of Appeals held that a nursing home could not demand arbitration of a wrongful death claim when the arbitration provider designated in its admissions contract had exited the consumer arbitration. Defendant sought to compel arbitration pursuant to an alternative dispute resolution agreement executed at the time of the husband's admission. The agreement designated the National Arbitration Forum (NAF) as the parties' exclusive forum for the arbitration of disputes. The plaintiff argued that the clause was unenforceable because the NAF had ceased providing consumer arbitration services.The court agreed that the loss of NAF as a forum for the parties' dispute rendered the defendant's arbitration clause unenforceable.
