Flowers Foods Buys Five Hostess Brands

Some popular Hostess brand products may still have signs of life. According to an announcement made Friday, Flowers Foods (Nature's Own) will purchase five brands from Hostess, including Wonder Bread, for $360 million. The sale does not include rights to Twinkies or Devil Dogs.

Government Says No to $1 Trillion Coin

Would minting a $1 trillion coin solve the nation's debt ceiling problems?



In essence, the idea was to mint a $1 trillion coin in order to pay off the national debt and avoid the debt ceiling debate entirely. In reality, it started off as nothing more than a joke, but somehow picked up steam after the idea gained many notable supporters.



In response, Obama Administration insisted that creating currency to pay off debt is not an option.



According to
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, "There are only two options to deal with the debt limit: Congress can pay its bills or it can fail to act and put the nation into default."

Property manager is not subject to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The Eleventh Circuit held that a property management company that collected unpaid assessments on behalf of a homeowners association was not subject to the requirements of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. The court held that the defendant fell within the scope of an exemption in the FDCPA for entities “collecting or attempting to collect any debt owed … another to the extent such activity is incidental to a bona fide fiduciary obligation.” Click here for more.
