As a general rule, a business is not liable for a slip and fall injury simply because it owns the property where the injury occurred. For the business to be responsible the injured person must show the business was "negligent" and that is why the injury happened. For example, if the business knew there was a slippery spot on the floor and did not take reasonable steps to clean it up, it would be liable to a customer who was injured as a result of its negligence. Click here for more.


Apple Expected to Introduce iPhone 5 Soon

Next Wednesday, September 12, Apple is expected to introduce the long-awaited iPhone 5. Last year, Apple was widely expected to release the iPhone 5. Instead, Apple released the iPhone 4S. This year another curve-ball seems unlikely.



The iPhone 5 is expected to be larger, have 4G capabilities, run on a faster processor, and include several structural changes.

West Nile Cases Rise 25% in One Week

West Nile is on the rise. In fact, the cases reported in the past few months eclipse the reported cases for the past five years combined.



So, is there cause for concern? Yes and no. 80% of infected people show no symptoms. 1% of of West Nile infections are considered "severe" and can result in neurological disease when the central nervous system is affected. Most reported cases include fever, headaches, fatigue, muscle pain or aches, malaise, nausea, anorexia, vomiting, myalgias and/or rash.



Since there is no vaccine, the best way to prevent West Nile is to use insect repellents when you go outside.

Amazon (Prime) Reaches Deal With Epix

Are you a Netflix or Amazon Prime subscriber? Recently, many subscribers have voiced their complaints about the poor selection of movies available through the streaming video service providers. That may be about to change for Amazon Prime subscribers. This week, Amazon reached a deal with Epix to stream many of the company's blockbuster movies. The deal with Epix, owned by Paramount, MGM, and Lionsgate, is expected to bring 3,000 titles to Amazon's streaming library. Will the deal convince you to give up on Netflix? Click here for more.
