Facebook Approaching 1 Billion UsersIn an updated filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in preparation for Facebook's upcoming initial public offering (IPO), Facebook reported 901 million monthly active users, including 488 million using Facebook mobile. The reported number of Facebook users went up 56 million users since the IPO was announced in February. The social networking powerhouse pulled in a staggering $3.7 billion in revenue in 2011. The company introduced its new cloud storage service this week, offering consumers 5 gigabytes of storage for free, compatible with PCs, Macs, and Android devices. At this time, the service is not compatible with the iPhone of iPad. The free service will allow consumers to create, store, access, and search content from any location with an internet connection and access to Google. Click here for more. iPhone Sales Come in Below ExpectationsIf the rumors are true, Apple intends to release the next generation of the iPhone by October of this year. However, as the company prepares to release the upgraded model of the popular phone, reports from Verizon and AT&T indicate that sales of the iPhone came in far below expectations for this quarter.
