Court Deals Blow to Health Care Reform

Can the federal government require Americans to buy health insurance? The "individual mandate" is the centerpiece of sweeping health care reform recently passed by Congress. It requires that all Americans carry health insurance, "spreading risk" and keeping costs manageable. According the the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Congress overstepped its authority when it passed the "individual mandate." Another appeals court has already upheld the constitutionality of the mandate, which means the ultimate decision will likely rest with the United States Supreme Court. Click here for more.


Recall: Grocery Store Beef

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, National Beef Packaging issued a recall for 60,000 pounds of beef after authorities found bacteria during routine testing. The meat was sent to several distributors and may have been repackaged and sold to consumers nationwide, including customers of Walmart, Kroger, Publix, and Winn-Dixie.
