Stock Market: Crazy Ups & Downs

What a crazy week for the stock market. After the United States credit rating was downgraded to AA+ last Friday, markets opened on Monday and immediately took a dive (635 points). Tuesday, the market bounced back by 430 points. Wednesday, the Dow plunged an incredible 520 points. Following the trend, the Dow surged by 423 points on Thursday to close at 11,143. Plaintiff suing drawer of check is entitled to attorney’s fees. The Texas Supreme Court held that a suit under Article 3 of the UCC is a suit for breach of contract. The court stated, “We must determine whether a suit by a check's holder against its drawer under section 3.414 is a claim on a contract to which section 38.001(8) applies.
