Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization ActAs soon as next week, the Senate is expected to approve the Food Safety Modernization Act. The primary goal of the legislation is to protect the American public, prevent contamination, and preclude large-scale recalls. The legislation would give the FDA the power of mandating recalls, while bolstering the number of investigators at food facilities. FDA Warns Makers of Alcoholic Energy DrinksAccording to the Food and Drug Administration, the popular combination of caffeine and alcohol is dangerous and creates a public health concern. The FDA issued a warning to four manufacturers of alcoholic energy drinks and could eventually seize the products if the companies continue to manufacture the dangerous products. For the LawyersLaw firm filing nonjudicial foreclosure didn't violate Fair Debt Act. The Tenth Circuit held that a law firm didn't violate federal debt collection law in the course of communicating with a debtor following the commencement of a non-judicial foreclosure. The court assumed that the attorney's conduct constituted "debt collection," but found no violation of the FDCPA. Click here for more. |
