Hyundai Recalls 139,500 SonatasHyundai has announced the recall of 139,000 Sonatas after finding that a manufacturing defect may cause drivers to lose control of the vehicle. HDTV Prices to Plunge for HolidaysIf you're in the market for a new television, you may want to hold out for the holidays to make the purchase. According to research conducted by DisplaySearch, LCD TV prices are expected to reach levels 12% or more below the 2009 values. On Black Friday, even more dramatic savings can be expected. For example, a 32" LCD TV selling for $374 today is expected to sell for $199 on Black Friday. Five years ago, a comparable TV would have sold for nearly $1,600. Demand for flat-screen televisions have been low, resulting in massive inventory gap piles and oversupply during the first nine months of 2010. FDA Won't Require Label for Genetically Modified SalmonThe Food and Drug Administration is considering whether to approve genetically modified salmon for public consumption. The Atlantic salmon was genetically modified to grow twice as fast as the natural (unmodified) alternative. If the FDA decides to approve the salmon for sale, it will be the first time a genetically modified animal has been approved for human consumption. If the salmon is approved, the FDA will not require a special label because the genetically modified salmon it is not "materially" different from other salmon. The Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel held that spouses who filed a joint bankruptcy petition while separated must combine their incomes for the purpose of determining the "applicable commitment period" for repaying creditors.
