Scam Alert: High-Yield Investment Programs

High-yield investment programs are marketed as safe while also promising high rates of return. Marketers of high-yield investment programs use vague or murky trading strategies to encourage consumers to invest. Of course, the promises are contradictory - investments can't be safe while also promising high rates of return. Many high-yield investment programs operate using the unsustainable pyramid model, with today's "investors" receiving payments from tomorrow's "investors." Be very careful! Mid-Continent does not bar contractual subrogation simply because the insured is fully indemnified. The Fifth Circuit held that the 2007 Texas Supreme Court decision in Mid-Continent Insurance Co. v. Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. does not preclude contractual subrogation simply because the insured has been fully indemnified. Click here for more.
