GM Recalls 1.4 Million Vehicles

General Motors has been bitten by the bad luck bug again. GM announced the company will recall 1.4 million vehicles for a fire hazard caused by a heated windshield wiper system. GM previously recalled nearly 1 million vehicles for the same issue in 2008, but the previous fix did not prevent new fires from starting. This time GM plans to disable the system altogether. The vehicles subject to recall include Buick Enclave and Lucerne; Cadillac CTS, DTS and Escalade; Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe and Traverse; GMC Acadia, Sierra and Yukon; Hummer H2; and Saturn Outlook. BP Hires Unemployed to Help in Cleanup

Although BP is facing intense criticism and scrutiny after the largest oil spill in American history, the company is now hiring the unemployed to help in cleanup efforts. The company is expected to hire a cleanup "army" of 4,500 unemployed workers to rake and shovel debris, clean rocks and beach areas, clean oil-covered items, and take away trash.  Click here for more.
