Attorneys General Challenge Health Reform

Is health care reform constitutional? Fourteen state attorneys general are saying it isn't. The states insist the requirement to buy health insurance is unconstitutional. Thirteen of the states, including Texas, signed in to a single lawsuit against the U.S. departments of Health and Human Services, Treasury and Labor. At issue is the Commerce Clause of the Constitution, which allows the government to regulate commerce. The states argue the Commerce Clause does not give the government the authority to require an individual to buy something, including insurance. Does the argument have merit, or is it a long short? Toyota to Replace Gas Pedals

Who said complaining didn't get you anywhere? Well, if you own a Toyota, complaining may just get you a new gas pedal. Toyota released a memo to dealers asking them to replace gas pedals for consumers unhappy with previous repair attempts. Bankruptcy court cannot decide student loan costs. The Fourth Circuit held that a bankruptcy court lacked jurisdiction to determine the interest and collection costs resulting from a default on student loan that occurred after a Chapter 13 estate was closed and the debtor discharged.
