Senate Passes Jobs Bill

By a 62 to 36 vote, the United States Senate approved a jobs bill that will extend unemployment benefits and tax breaks. The $140 billion bill contains virtually no new initiatives to spur job creation. There are currently 15 million people seeking employment. Next, the United States Senate will take up a $15 billion bill to help the 15 million people currently seeking employment. What is included in the bills? Opt out provision saves arbitration clause class action waiver. A U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania held a payday loan agreement containing a class action waiver was not unconscionable because it contained a provision allowing the borrower to unconditionally opt out of arbitration.
