The People’s Lawyer’s Tip of the Day

Federal law prohibits a debt collector from calling you at work, but only after he knows your employer prohibits such calls. If a debt collector calls you at work, let him know that your employer does not allow such calls and that you assume he will never call again. If the debt collector calls back, he has violated federal law and you could be entitled to a penalty of up to $1,000.  Click here for more.


Comcast Buys 51% of NBC Universal

Comcast and General Electric have entered in to a $37 billion joint venture that gives Comcast 51% ownership of CNBC, Bravo, MSNBC, and NBC broadcast and stations. Send Large Files For Free

Sending large files to friends and family can be difficult. Most email providers limit file size to about twenty megabytes. Some sites provide file hosting, but require consumers to read through numerous ads and provide personal information. A new site, called WeTransfer, changes everything. With WeTransfer, you can send up to two gigabytes to up to 20 email addresses without entering CAPTCHA or personal information (beyond an email address).
