Crackdown on Housing Scams

The FBI currently has 2,100 open cases involving foreclosure and mortgage fraud. According to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, "Those who would seek to prey on the most vulnerable also seek to intensify their efforts ..." Best Buy Recalls Insignia LCD TV

Best Buy has recalled all Insignia 26 inch high definition LCD televisions. The recall was announced after several fires were started by faulty power supply. Best Buy is issuing gift cards to those that return the televisions. Click here for more.


Texas Sues Florida Based Travel Company

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has frozen the assets of a Florida-based travel company. General Abbott is accusing the company of using false giveaways to get customers to buy expensive, useless software. The company, known as Escapes Austin LLC and Escapes Midwest LLC, operated under the names Global Escapes, Blue Water, and Sun Tree.
