Free Credit Reports

Why doesn't freecreditreport.com actually provide free credit reports? It's the wrong site to receive the government mandated free credit reports. Visit the "People's Lawyer" website to find the correct link to receive your free credit report. You're entitled to 1 credit report per year per credit reporting agency. You may consider spreading the reports out over the course of a year, getting one report every four months. For example, you could receive your Experian report first, then receive your TransUnion report, and finally your Equifax report. Regardless of how you decide to receive your credit report, make sure you start at the right place. Click here for more.

In case you missed this case last week, the Supreme Court handed down an important preemption ruling. In a much anticipated case, the United States Supreme Court held that a state law tort claim is not preempted by federal drug labeling law. The court rejected Wyeth's claim that it could not comply with both the state-law duties underlying those claims and its federal labeling duties. Click here for more.
